Lily’s Story

Lily is a 7 year old rescued long haired Chihuahua. She is a very picky eater and on top of that was diagnosed with EPI (exocrine pancreatic insufficiency) this past spring. Her pancreas no longer works and she can't digest food on her own, so without treatment she would basically starve to death. After getting the much needed enzymes I had to find a food that I could mix with them and still be palatable to her. It also needed to be grain free. She is not a fan of canned food and dry food would require me soaking it in water with the enzymes, which would create a mush that I know she would never eat. I decided to try Freshpet which I already knew she enjoyed. I buy the rolls and put the right amount in my food processor to chop it up so I can mix it with her powdered enzymes. It has been a huge success and an immense relief to find a food that she can enjoy, the enzymes don't alter the texture and she's even put on the weight she lost before she was diagnosed. Freshpet has been a savior for my sick baby and has made treating her so much easier. Thank you
