Lucy’s Story

About five years ago I was lonely so I started looking for a companion. I combed through Craigslist and found a beagle named Lucy. I clicked on the ad and up pops her picture-adorable! It was love at first sight and I knew she was "the one"! I contacted the person who posted the ad and made arrangements to go pick her up-over 60 miles away! When I arrived in walked in the door and she ran over to me with her head craned up looking at me and her tail going 90 to nothing! While I knelt down to soak in the love the poster of the ad explained they had found her while they were on vacation at a lake. She was starving to death and was really sick. They took her home to nurse her back to health. When she saw the vet they found out that she had a really bad bacterial infection in her stomach and she was pregnant! They got her healthy and Lucy had her pups- 2 healthy pups and 1 stillborn. They were able to find homes for the puppies. They got Lucy potty trained and behavior trained and she was ready for a new home! I brought Lucy home and it was like she had been there the whole time. I loved her so much. Not long after I got her home I figured out that Lucy had a problem with food-she regurgitated everything she ate. We went to the vet many times, went through many different foods and even the brands the vet prescribed didn't help. Finally someone mentioned your brand- we tried it and of course she loved it!! But also, she never got sick again! Freshpet has been our savior for our family. It is a bit on the pricey range but I will do anything to keep my baby happy and healthy!
