Maya’s Story

Dear Freshpet, At 12 years old, on May 17, 2016 it was discovered that Maya had a paralyzed larynx and needed laryngeal tie-back surgery. The surgery would leave her at high risk for aspiration pneumonia from small particles from dry dog food being able to get into her lungs easily when she tried to swallow. They only expected her to live 1 year post surgery. Freshpet prolonged her life an extra three years. Maya lived a long and active life. She passed away July 1, 2019. I owe those last three fun and loving years to Freshpet.
