My cat Mia, a beautiful persian, is friendly but inactive and picky about her foods. Because she is so picky, I have had trouble controlling her weight as she tends to only like the high-carbohydrate varieties, and also seemed to eat out of boredom. I had tried portioning out her meals, switching to grain-free varieties, and followed my vets advice by switching to a higher protein diet by including more soft food. Nothing seemed to get her weight down. She would often go on "hunger strikes" if I didn't include her beloved hard food. I decided to give Freshpet a try, figuring it wouldn't hurt since my other cat would eat it if she didn't. Freshpet is now their main source of food, and I give a small amount of the grain-free hard food with it mixed in. After a few months, she has lost several pounds, is more energetic, and no longer overeats. I only wish they had a fish variety as my cats love salmon!
