I run the Great Pyrenees Rescue of Western NC. We are a 501c3 non-profit. Last year, someone surrendered a 6 year old female Great Pyrenees named Olivia to me because she had bone cancer on her front leg and they didn't want to deal with it. We took her in and took her to a vet to have treatment started. The vet said that she was too weak for amputation and he suggested euthanasia. We tried to build up her strength, and then took her to another vet, he said the same thing. So we were trying everything we could to get her to eat better, but she just would not eat much at all. We must have bought 40 different brands and varieties of canned dog food. She wouldn't try most of them. She would nibble a little and go back to sleep. We had another vet come out to our rescue, she also recommended euthanasia because Olivia was just too weak to walk on 3 legs. So, finally, a friend of mine suggested FreshPet! I went to the store immediately and boughtt a 5lb roll and she loved it. She ate 3 times a day, and after 3 weeks, she was scheduled to go to the vet one last time, and he agreed that she was strong enough to survive the amputation!!!!!! She is doing great now and gaining weight and strength. She's amazing considering 3 vets had given up on her(not one of them suggested Freshpet)...THANK YOU for saving her life!
