Rebel; Freya’s Story

Rebel was a dwarf German Shepherd who had a whole host of health problems that included problems with both kidney and liver function. As a result he had to be on a low fat, low protein diet. He was also a picky eater. I started him on Fresh Pet because it has lower protein and fat levels than other types of dog foods and I liked feeding him fresh food. He loved it! For a dog that began life with the challenge of being a dwarf (a genetic abnormality) with an abnormal skeletal structure, had thyroid problems that kept him on lifelong medication, had problems with liver and kidney functions that required his special diet, and who ended up developing Addison's disease later in life, he lived an amazing nine and a half years and, despite his health problems, he was rarely sick. My new dwarf GSD, Freya, will also be living on Fresh Pet because she has abnormal liver and kidney values too. Thanks for being there Fresh Pet, I just wish I didn't have to drive 50 miles to buy you!
